Here is the finished candle. Scroll down for the tutorial! :)
I started with a plain white candle.
I cut a piece of tissue paper out the size of a sheet of cardstock.
I taped the tissue paper onto the cardstock and printed off the images I wanted on my candle.
Color in your image (if preferred) then cut it out right around the image. (This image is not colored in because I forgot to take pictures when making my original candle.) lol
I placed the image onto my candle.
Then I cut a strip of wax paper to fit around my candle. I like to make it a little longer so that I can grab it on the back side. Then as I am heating up the candle, it will not burn my fingers. :) You do not need to use wax paper for this project, but I think it melts on smoother and looks more real. When you are finished melting the image on, just gently peel off the wax paper.
I really love this technique! It is so fun and easy and will make great gifts! I added some fall leaves and flowers from Michaels around the finished candle for a beautiful background scene.
I hope you enjoyed the altered candle today! Please stop by Daydream Designs and check out all of Diane's beautiful images!
