Give Thanks

Hi everyone! Today we are giving thanks at Incy Wincy! Our challenge for you is Give Thanks! We would love to see projects showing how thankful we are! :) We are sponsored this week by Delicious Doodles! They are offering 4 Digi's to the winner! For my card I used Pumpkin Corner paired with a digital sentiment from Daydream Designs' Pumpkin Patch Outline Set! I colored the image with copics and added ultra fine glitter to the bubbles.

Yesterday, I visited a church to see my niece being baptized. The pastor stated a neat thought reminding us about how important thanking God is in our daily prayers. He said, "If you woke up tomorrow and only had what you had thanked God for the day before, what would you have?" He then said, "Would any of you even be alive?" How often do we thank God for what we have? How often do we thank Him for life? What an awesome reminder to always thank God for every blessing He provides!! :)

It really encouraged me to pray for all God's blessings, I hope it did the same for you!
Be Blessed!
And Thank You for stopping by!

Basket of Flowers Canvas

Good morning everyone! Today I'm showing you the image Basket of Flowers from Crafty Sentiments Designs! It's one of their September New Release stamps! If you haven't dropped by to look at them, you are totally missing out! This month is an eclectic group of wonderfully cute stamps! For the next week we will be showing you the New Release images at Crafty Sentiments Inspirations. The DT have been making some projects with tutorials to show off these new stamps!
I made a canvas for my daughter's birthday using the Basket of Flowers stamp. Here is the finished canvas. A tutorial is below. :)

I started by applying Gesso to the canvas to prime it. Then I placed my texture items down using Mod Podge. I also used a Gel Medium when using my stencils to add more depth.

Still adding more texture!

And finishing off with some wood and metal pieces. The wooden corner piece is from Hobbycutz. The metal pieces are Recollections and Tim Holtz. The letters JESUS were made using the flower stems from my I Am Roses flowers. I cut them off the flowers and curled them up!

After I finished placing my texture items, I applied Gesso to the entire canvas.

Once dry, I sprayed with Dylusions spray inks.

I sprinkled some water over the ink to make the splotches. I really liked how it turned out! After it dried, I lightly applied Gesso to the edges of all the texture items to have them pop out a little.

Here's a close-up of the cute image Basket of Flowers! I colored her with copics and added some cute freckles to go along with her red hair.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Please check out all the projects over the next several days at Crafty Sentiments Inspirations!

Apple Basket Altered Candle

Good morning all! I have another project to share with you today! I used Daydream Designs wonderful images to alter my candle. I used the Bushel and Peck Outline Set and the Harvest of Gratitude Sentiment Set.

Here is the finished candle. Scroll down for the tutorial! :)

I started with a plain white candle.

I cut a piece of tissue paper out the size of a sheet of cardstock.

I taped the tissue paper onto the cardstock and printed off the images I wanted on my candle.

Color in your image (if preferred) then cut it out right around the image. (This image is not colored in because I forgot to take pictures when making my original candle.) lol

I placed the image onto my candle.

Then I cut a strip of wax paper to fit around my candle. I like to make it a little longer so that I can grab it on the back side. Then as I am heating up the candle, it will not burn my fingers. :) You do not need to use wax paper for this project, but I think it melts on smoother and looks more real. When you are finished melting the image on, just gently peel off the wax paper.

I really love this technique! It is so fun and easy and will make great gifts! I added some fall leaves and flowers from Michaels around the finished candle for a beautiful background scene.

I hope you enjoyed the altered candle today! Please stop by Daydream Designs and check out all of Diane's beautiful images!

Altered Journal

Hi all! I'm so excited to show you my first altered journal! Crafty Sentiments has another super fun challenge for you all!

Anything but a Card

That's right, No Cards this week! :) So break out your old ugly items that need a good altering or that crafting project you've been dying to get finished and enter it in at Crafty Sentiments! Here is my project! I started with a notebook I bought at Dollar General that badly needed to be altered (picture below). ;)
I wanted to make a journal for my children. Our children are a blessing from the Lord, so I wanted them to have a journal that would remind them that since they are the Lord's children, they are also heirs! Which means that they are Princesses and Princes! On each of their pages, I used their favorite colors to color the image and decorate the page. On some of their pages, I played around with some new stencils I just purchased using gesso and spray inks. Then I added a scripture that would help remind and encourage them that God sees our inside beauty and loves us dearly. For the tabs on top, I used a Martha Stewart punch. Here is the completed journal!!

(see what I mean.....badly needed altering)

I started with some gesso. Then I covered it with white paper just to make sure the letters didn't show through. Next, I began layering my texture items using Mod Podge. When it was completely dry, I sprayed with Dylusions Vibrant Turquoise, Crushed Grape, and Lemon Zest ink sprays.

Inside the journal I used many of Crafty Sentiments New Lollipop Dreams stamps.
This one is Princess Mask

Here is Off to the Ball

and again Off to the Ball

This stamp is Delicate Flowers

And for my Prince I used Billy the Groom

Here is a close-up of all the stamps!

Back to School Time!

We have an excellent challenge for you today at Crafty Sentiments

It's ANYTHING GOES

I'm using the stamp Back to School. Isn't he the cutest! I used papers from two of my favorite paper stacks Graphic 45 An ABC Primer and Authentique Curiosity Collection. The library check out card was from a pack of ephemera that I received from an RAK group last year. I distressed the edges using brown ink. The little chalkboard I found at Joann's. I stamped on it using a stamp from the Graphic 45 ABC Primer stamp pack with Colorbox Chalk inkpad Creamy Brown. I added a Tim Holtz hinge clip and mini paper clip. The beige paper was stamped on using a postcard stamp from TPC studio. The little clock I fussy cut out of the paper stack and added Glossy Accents to it. I hope you enjoyed my Back to School card and will join us at Crafty Sentiments this week in our Anything Goes challenge!!

I colored her with my copics (listed below). The flowers are from WOC and I Am Roses. I used a Tim Holtz buckle, gears, and a tiny key from Explorer. The shapes were cut using my cricut. The sentiment ticket is from Digital Delights and I typed my own sentiment inside. The lovely lace was from JoAnn's. Thanks for checking out my post today! Back to School Mini Album

Hi crafty friends! I'm so excited to tell you about a digital store that has opened! Daydream Designs owned by the talented and sweet Diane Noble is now open! I am so blessed to be a part of her Design Team!
Her store sells the cutest digital images, along with, digital papers and sentiments! She has many images being released throughout the month, so stop by occasionally and check out what's new!

Here is my first project as part of the Dream Team:
I knew I had to make a cute little mini album when I saw Diane's School Days KD Kit. I teamed up her cute kit with some vintage papers from Graphic 45's ABC Primer. I used chalkboard ATC's to cover the tabs and used chalk ink for the numbers.  I've added lots of fibers and some cute charms to the rings. There are many pockets and tags throughout the album that I cut using my cricut. These cute little tags and folders will be used to hold lots of pictures of our new school year!

I used Tim Holtz caramel alcohol ink to make the ink spots and a ring fastener to open the folder.

Inside the folder is another album to hold more pictures.

Two mats to frame some pictures.

A cute little picture book and pocket.

The image on the tag is from the Dream Team Scripture Color Mats 1 set.

These pages are full of Daydream Designs cute little images and digital papers!

Picture of mini album before I altered it! :)

I hope you enjoyed my album and will stop by and check out Diane's new store Daydream Designs!
